After 56 years living on this planet, I finally discovered that I liked to paint. This began on Thanksgiving weekend 2005. After about 6 weeks of painting on my own, I felt I needed to learn more about how to do this but I didn't know where to go. I was leary of regular art instruction since I had received no encouragement to explore art in the classes I took in school. Then I met Allen Tager at his gallery in January, 2006 and decided to attend his creativity workshop. This was the beginning of an astounding journey I have continued for 11 months now. Never did I dream I would be able to paint as I do now. Allen Tager helped me discover the artist that was inside of me waiting to be released. He inspires and guides without every telling you what to do or how to do it. He allows each student to pursue their own visions in their own way. His gift is in his ability to help his students see through the eyes of a great artist and inspire everyone to keeping growing and exploring their creative potential. As your awareness of how to see like an artist grows, you naturually begin to express this in your paintings.This is what art education is supposed to be all about. Art instruction shouldn't restrict us or force us to fit into a limiting structure. Art instruction should free us so we can soar through the sky and connect with the spirit that is us. Allen Tager's way of teaching allows ever student to find their own vision, their own way of expressing their creative forces. And it is amazing how fast you can develop if you stick with this."

Allen holds open a deep space into the source of creativity itself. He provides a suggested intention to focus with before beginning my work which helped deepen my approach. While I was working Allen would appear just when I really needed some support. His guidence was exceptional, providing practical input without actually telling me what to do. Allen's unique teaching ability is his inate gift that he offers to the world.

Allen has been a powerful and influential force in my life. I had not done much art at all when I met him and began taking classes with him, and the art that I was able to create under his guidance surprised and thrilled me! I now understand that I am an artist, a creator, and I am inspired by Allen and Svitlana to see that there are endless possibilities open to me. Their influence has gone far beyond hangable masterpieces and into the sphere of the creation of my very life. Allen has a very unique and special style of teaching that I have not found anywhere else. Rather than focusing on specific techniques or rules for color or composition, he sees vibrations and relationships between colors and forms as they develop on your piece and guides you only when you get stuck or start going down a dead end. He helps me see me reflected back through my art, and I learn infinitely more about myself and life than from standard style art classes, which now feel a little empty in comparison. I am so grateful for my experiences with them both.

I knew instantly I was witnessing a crossroad in my life in my first workshop with Allen. He teachers you to learn in a way that I always believed in but have had few opportunities in this country. Riding high with this “pregnant potential”, I signet up for my second retreat and made a major breakthrough in my total conceptual meaning of art and creativity. With a deeper understanding how art plays a role in my life and my self esteem and in the world at large, I know I will fulfill my destiny in this lifetime. Back that up with a healing from Svitlana… as she interpreted my painting as an extension of self and worked through my blocks, I truly felt whole again. Experiencing this sensitive, intimate couples is an ongoing personal growth feast… Each class and treatment brings me closer to my spiritual journey on Earth. There is an instant when you recognize beauty and truth.

Allen Tager is very skilled at using art as a vehicle to elicit intuitive response. This process seems to be self-perpetuating, where the art process then gains confidence from intuitive awareness, and creativity is allowed to flourish.
